Petals and picnickers – Cherry blossom festival in Seoul, Korea

This is the third and last post in our Petals and .. mini series. In the first post, we have shown you pictures from Jinhae’s cherry blossom festival, and in the second, we have taken you back to Germany with us. Now it is time to have a look at this year’s cherry blossoms in South Korea’s capital Seoul.

Since we didn’t get to see the cherry blossoms in Jinhae in the sunshine, we gave them a second chance on the Han river island Yeouido. Located in central Seoul, Yeouido is the financial centre of the city. Besides skyscrapers it also features a huge park, many cherry trees and a popular bike rental service. Surprisingly, it was less crowded there than in Jinhae. Below are a few pictures from our visit. On large devices, you may have to click on the pictures in the gallery to enlarge them and to read our commentary.

All images taken with an Olympus OMD E-M10 and prime lenses. Edited from RAW format in darktable.
